Editor-in-Chief Tavi Gevinson first mentioned the concept for Rookie on her blog, Style Rookie, in April 2010, and received a huge response.

RookieMag is an online publication for teenage girls featuring writing, photography, illustrations, videos, and also supports content from the readers themselves. The site features monthly “issues,” each revolving around a theme; rookie posts just three times a day – after school, after dinner, and before bed.

You may know of her in her previous incarnation as the ‘youngest front row darling ever’, a place she was often seen quirkily seated at the age of 13.

I admit I find Tavi Gevinson, decades my junior, a total inspiration.

She is candid yet measured, she has her own voice and uses it to embrace other young women, helping to inspire confidence, authenticity and wisdom in them. She is a feminist, an environmentalist, an educated and stylish young women who was born in 1996.
