We’ve been sitting on some of these gems for weeks and we’re finally getting around to shouting about them. Saying that, golden oldies aren’t the only thing we’ve got this week. There’s a brand new beauty balm, a great eye pencil and an amazing shine control fluid that have all just come in as well…. Read on to find out more!
As promised I’m going to start with a product I’ve been staring at every week since I’ve starting the Kaydar; Eyeko London’s new Curvy Brush Mascara.
Now there are a number of variants (including a fat and skinny brush version) and they’ve all been revamped from the old formula’s and packaging (you might remember the brand when they did those super cute nail varnish pots that are no more). The brush itself is waved in shape and the formula goes on really nicely and doesn’t budge. We both love the quirky guitar pluck you get with each mascara as well; supplied so users can hold they eyelid taught as they apply the mascara accurately. A great little touch.
Next on the list we’ve got a new one from Decleor; the Aroma Purete Shine Control Oxygenating Fluid. I know Kay is very impressed with this little pot. It not only hydrates well but it really control shine excellently and somehow manages to make fine lines disappear-imagine! We’ve tried and tested it and we’re in love especially as we move into summer and might need that extra boost without resorting to powder-build-up or blotting papers in order to ‘de-shine’ our moisturiser.
We couldn’t have a Kaydar without a bit of colour and we stumbled across another great liner shade from Bourjois today in Metallic Bleu Chatoyant. It’s ultra violet to the extreme and we love it for an easy injection of colour in the evenings.
Another amazing beauty cream came to our attention today (KM.com HQ is teaming with them at the moment – see our last Kaydar here) in the form of Carita Paris Baume de Beaute. Concentrated with hazelnut, corn and macadamia oil, this tiny wee pot of a fluid-like balm that’s said to be used on dry areas such as the face, body and hair. I tried it as a lip balm earlier and although it’s not a conventional texture, you can definitely feel it hydrating. In reality though, I’d like to use it on holiday-if I’d caught the sun on areas like my nose etc. You only need to use sparingly and it’s not a weighty formula so it won’t clog your skin.
Last, and certainly not least, we’ve just seen a sneak preview of the new NARS nail collaboration with Thakoon (watch out for a full post next week). It arrived on our desk about 2 minutes ago and we’re both in love. Thakoon and Nars have only ever collaborated on runway shows before, never on a collection, so this is very exciting.
There’s a neon pink, softer more muted pink, lemon rind yellow, pale aqua and bright blue – all of which look rather fabulous when put together… on the desk that is.
I feel a mutli-mani coming on…
Nars/Thakoon is 16th April at Liberty London and May 1st nationwide.
