We really want it to be but the beginning of the year is not always the most inspiring.
Post ‘everything-that’s-bad-for-you” combined with ‘putting one’s best face on for the new year’ can be a challenge..
So if you think you look tired and pasty, here’s some help.
Use a non-matte foundation like MyMix by MyFace Cosmetics or Chanel‘s Vitalumiere Aqua. (For more foundation info, click HERE ) Always keep your cheeks dewy looking.
For extra dewiness on the upper cheekbones, try using all-round Wild Rose Beauty Balm by Neils Yard.
Apply a pink or coral, light-reflective blush.
Curl your eyelashes.
Wear less dark eye make-up.
Brush up your eyebrows with clear mascara or eyebrow gel.
Avoid pencil or eye-shadow under your
eyes.
Avoid matte powders.
Wear eye ‘brightening’ concealer-i.e. concealers designed to neutralise grey/blue areas with (depending on your skin tone) peach-to orange tones:
Fair Skin: Laura Mercier Secret Concealer (not camouflage-that’s dryer, more suited to rest of face) No 2 or Bobbi Brown Eye Brightener in 2
Medium -to dark, Laura Mercier Secret Concealer in 3 or Touche Eclat in 3
Darker Skin,YSL Touche Eclat in 4,5, Armani Concealer in 2 ’40 GD’ or Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage in 5 or 6 (if your skin is not dry around the eye area).
Lips need TLC too, I prefer to use Shea Butter-based lip balms by Jurlique, Ren, Nude or Neils Yard as they seem to work better than petroleum-based ones (& are more ‘edible’).

Great tips but definitely better for normal to dry skin types. What about oily types where Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua just slides off after 2 hours? We also want to look fresh but for longer then our breakfast duration;) I’d very appreciate help in that matter. I find that many makeup artist omit the problem of oily skin types or suggest using loose powder in the t-zone as a solution. To many people, me included sadly this is not enough. X
